Hi to all
Why am I telling all of this?
Simply because I feel the HELP is not answering simple questions.
And if a newbee tries Arachne he/she will fail and loose interest.
So this time I document all the troubles... and see I learn too.

Yes, and also in config.sys DOS=UMB

First I had another cdrom driver but something was wrong with it
I am just glad the CD-ROM player is working now
In future I will only load it when needed... and will look for a non
corrupt smaller driver.

Thanks for comments and lessons

All .exe programs for DOS ought to start with MZ, as eg. .gif starts with
GIF
Why should Arachne gunzips ara171ue.exe if this file is a real .exe with
the correct size at the source (Glenn) and arrives at the destination
with the correct size and uncorrupted at the destination (eg. me)?
First question: where got it gzipped between source and destination?
Second question: why should it be gzipped?
