Hello Thomas,
I have written it between 1994 and 1998, when I stopped supporting
it. It's called RS-DOS, and you should be able to download it from the
Internet, if you search for it. It does everything MS-DOS does, but
because most of it is written in assembler, it takes up much less space
(fits on one floppy) and is faster. It hasn't been written with any
special purpose in mind, but was used extensively by guys running FidoNet
type bulletin boards. It even has built-in network support.
To be fair, I have to say that parts of it were written by a group of
my final year students at the time )the file compression utility, the
defragger and the disk-doubler).
All I have left to show for my efforts is a boot disk with the format
and mem program on it (and the system files of course). The rest got lost
during the floods of 3 years ago. But as I said, if you search for it (or
my name), you should be able to still find it.
Greetings,
Dr. Ron

Subject: your own dos??
{curiousity runs wild}
Dear Ronald:
What is this about your
own dos? Well, I am somewhat of a dos fan myself, but never much into
code. But I downloaded and used for some things Russian dos PTS-dos
from their website. But I will give anything a go-around occassionally.
So let us in on the skinny? What is this dos you made for yourself, and
what special purpose did you have for
it?
yours,
