Yes good point,  the internal cacheing replacement for the external
SMARTDRIVE being one example.

I think it's pretty much nailed down as to what the problem is after
cross checking everyones emails.

It's the DOS contained in W95 that does not recognise the @ I think.
As mentioned before if you get to a DOS prompt after booting to windoze
you don't get the problem in a W95 system but I think you still do
with W98 which indicates another change in the DOS.

Glenn, regarding the (your) DOS versions in windoze,

My W95 is dated 26th August 1996 I think, it identifys as follows

In Windoze system properties: Windoze 95 4.00.950 B

At the DOS prompt,  Ver command: Windoze 95 version 4.00.1111
