I think it's pretty much nailed down as to what the problem is after cross checking everyones emails. It's the DOS contained in W95 that does not recognise the @ I think. As mentioned before if you get to a DOS prompt after booting to windoze you don't get the problem in a W95 system but I think you still do with W98 which indicates another change in the DOS.
