They wanted MSIE and Netscape to be "all-in-one" internet programs with all functions handled by the browser package. This is easier for the ordainary, uninformed user to cope with. A seperate ftp program confuses the uninitiated. Microsoft doesn't care about bloat. In fact, Microsoft loves bloat. They want to bloat you right into a hardware upgrade. This has been their consistent and wildly sucessful strategy since day one. Forcing users to upgrade both software and hardware is what Microsoft does best. If things are running slowly (and they will) you better get a new computer. And people do. And Microsoft has made another sale. Efficiency is not something Microsoft gives a rat's ass about. What they want is for you to buy a new computer. Sam Ewalt Croswell, Michigan, USA -- Arachne V1.70;rev.3, NON-COMMERCIAL copy, http://arachne.cz/
