I wonder if there is a cheap (free would be excellent) way to do
this.
I personally use a very useful boot manager called Smart Boot Manager. It is free and does not rely on any OS. It sits in the hidden track of a hard disk and does not touch any partition. Smart Boot Manager should work with any OS you have. The best part of Smart Boot Manager is it allows booting from the CD-ROM even if the BIOS doesn�t allow. It can even password protect your DOS partition. It can be found at http://btmgr.sourceforge.net/.
