et al,

FIRST - please do not "quote" whole messages in replies.
SECOND - please never send something like that "whatever" to
the list.

1. Google search will turn up more info than you ever wanted to
know about javascript.
2. I have downloaded tutorials, etc, and even bought two advanced
books from my ComputerBookClub. There is a LOT of information out
there.
3. Pay attention ONLY to client-side javascript. This is the only
thing applicable to browsers, and will keep you from getting even
more confused than you all ready are....<g>
4. There IS at least one javascript engine for DOS...I have it
down on one of my boxes. There are some OpenSource engines, that
might be able to be ported to DOS, also.
5. Javascript is a language that is (on the browser/client side)
interpreted. This means that it is like the old GWBasic, etc.
6. Minimal functionality for Arachne should be able to be attained
by processing the "little" bit of absolutely necessary javascript
that we run into by running it thru an external utility just like
we do with JPGs, etc images.

....gregy
