Hello Kali/everyone,
You may want to try some of the programs here:

http://members.cox.net/dos/txted01.htm

I haven't tried it, but have heard good things about WordStar, version 7 for DOS. Unfortunately, it is no longer available, as the company that distributed it (The Learning Company, iirc) is now owned by Mattel, and they apparently do not care about inquiries into WS7 for DOS. You may be able to find it on ebay or at your favorite software flea market. :\

Also, check out the WordStar user's group:

http://www.cuenet.com/cbabbage/wordstar/

There is a searchable archive there. :)

http://www.petrie.u-net.com/wsdos/pages/wsdos.htm

has a lot of info on WordStar for DOS.

Cheers!

david

Dear Bart & list:
Good on you Bart!
The way Winword became "the standard wordprocessing format" was
appalling.
It should have been .rtf as this was cross platform.
I have found that MARTHA will render .DOC files into .TXT quite well and
the addition to Arachne 171 of .DOC handling is really useful.
I tried recently to turn .DOC files into .RTF with DOX so as to preserve
heading fonts and so on, but DOX crashes horribly with some documents.
Has anyone else used a good DOC2RTF converter?
Kali
