very simple: I have a faxmachine on my desk ;-)
In the early days, using a 286 monocolor computer, I used the faxmachine
as a printer to the computer or as a scanner for images.
I used the DOS program "BITFAX".
Recently I tried this trick again on a pentium but the resolution is
very low. The faxmachine is much faster in scanning in the image, iven
if set to the highest resolution.
Furthermore just one of the five modems I tried was functioning.
Does anyone know if a faxmodem for the computer is a special one?
It must be able to generate the fax tones used for handshaking between
the machines...
PS: I also tried to send a fax in Win95... never succeeded.
