Hi, Sam:

As I remember the RFC for POP mail, it is only when you send the 
"disconnect" (quit?) signal to the server that the "deleted" messages 
are actually gone to their reward.  Until  then, they are still 
stored, and marked for deletion.  I would have to re-read the RFC to 
get the command, but the "deleted" messages can be retrieved if you 
do it before signing off.
