It's certainly also a matter of getting used to it. Since Arch is a true
rolling release and you update regularly, groups of common suspects, so
to speak, are usually updated as well, i.e., packages that are dependent
on each other. Replacements are even announced with a "replace"
question. It certainly depends on what you have installed, but I find
the listing in a row quite good, as it gives me a quick overview of a
large number of packages without having to scroll.

Of course, it remains a matter of personal preference, but I just wanted
to mention that Arch updates are somewhat different from release
distribution updates, and some people (presumably, at least I do)
appreciate seeing them listed in a row.

To avoid accidentally overlooking certain updates, I have added some
packages to the IgnorePkg list in pacman.conf so that they are displayed
separately when an update is available. These packages include chaotic-
aur/memtest86-efi, for example, as I have to mount the efi partition
manually before the update anyway.
