PS: I don't think arbitrarily changing upstream names as the default on a system is a better default, not even if two programs have exactly the same syntax and functionality. To accommodate individual preferences, I usually use aliases or variables, such as EDITOR. I find your suggestion odd, it would be like creating a link named "chromium" that points to a firefox binary.
