For all the testers with us: GNOME 2.10 beta is in testing. Upgrading from 2.8 shouldn't be a problem, I did it on multiple systems without issues. Evolution 2.2 beta will not get packaged until after the final, so gnome-panel does not have evolution integration (gnome-panel 2.10 requires evolution-dataserver 1.1.x).
Arjan and I have been using gnome 2.9/10 for a week now without problems, so we considered it stable enough for some testing. The GNOME 2.10 stable release is planned in a few weeks, so having a heavily tested GNOME is a good thing.
