I also did this before doing "pacman --sync --sysupgrade" but after "/sbin/telinit 5" I encountered the same problem under discussion. So I "/sbin/telinit 3" again then "pacman -Rd kde" and "pacman --sync kde". And after "/sbin/telinit 5", I got KDE 3.4 installed and without problem. To summarize what I did (this is not the recommended but I got KDE 3.4 installed anyway and I also forgot the wiki): 1. /sbin/telinit 3 2. pacman --sync --sysupgrade 3. /sbin/telinit 5 4. encountered the problem 5. /sbin/telinit 3 6. pacman -Rd kde 7. pacman --sync kde 8. /sbin/telinit 5 9. KDE 3.4 installed and running I hope this can help people encountering the same problem. -- Waldemar Amado Bautista http://ramedlaw.blogspot.com Co-Founder & President, UP Linux Users' Group http://www.uplug.org Co-Founder, System Administrator & Programmer, Lemniscate Technologies http://www.lemniscatetech.com _______________________________________________ arch mailing list [email protected] http://www.archlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/arch
