Are these new scripts going to replace the support in the wireless tools conf.d file or are they integrated with it? I have tried them and they work great but I wasn't sure about that.

I was waiting for that Pierre, thanks for not letting me down :)

Can it be built in so that the initscripts do not have to depend on WPA but
can use it if available?

I think so. I am not sure but we could make some kind of "hooks", so we can move this functionality to scripts included with the wpa-package.

You seem to know more about it than most so please have a look at the new initscripts and make your recommendations.

Ah what? I know nothing. ;-)

Hi guys,

I just lost an overview who is currently working on wireless-scripts. ;-)

Whoever, please include WPA-Enrcyption-Support in the scripts and/or the
possibility to run customized start-/stop-scripts for vpn etc..

I think most users want to secure their wlan-connection; so this should
be available by default.

(Sorry for that extra mail, phrak)

Now, now my good man - I say extensible you, say crap ;)

Hmmm - just a "scan" profile? I'll see if I can adapt mine to that
approach, now I have a card that scans

Just a question (i dont have access to linux atm)

Does this new setup offer detection of wireless networks?

Well, no, but like I said to dibble, seeing as the profiles are just
sourced bash scripts, you can have it execute some crap when sourced
to scan for new networks...
