Hi folks,

I'm running ArchLinux on an R40e Thinkpad.
I have X running after 'startx', and then I switch to tty, lets say,
'Ctrl + Alt + F1'. After type some command in the console, I switch back
to X, then I have problem. In such cases, my keyboard dies and the X
display garbles. Because I can't use the keyboard, the only thing that I
can do is to press the power button.
Same thing happens when I run the tuxracer. Whenever Tuxracer goes
full-screen, the key board and X dies.
I must have some mistakes when configuring my keyboard. Any one even
encountered this situation before?

Hi Lin Zihui,

Did you try "magic keys" sequence, that is when nothing's answering, pressing one key after another :
CTRL R S E I U B
AFAIK, first 3 keys somehow force X to close & the last key makes the whole system reboot in emergency

dui bu qi! i'm well aware this is not the answer to your problem, but it *might* be kind of usefull when your keyboard is not responding to any other key sequence.
Also hope that 甘露's answer about ATI helps a bit.
