| could sink my teeth into that need attention--e.g. helping to get
| ready for 0.7.1/0.8, or maybe just getting my hands dirty in Flyspray?
|  ...Hmm, maybe a "Help wanted" page on the wiki/dev-blog where people
| can see what needs attention?

this is such a great idea, that i just right now started a wiki article on
how to contribute to arch. feel free to check out here:

http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Mutualism_Arch

note that this is just a brainstorming from me trown together quickly... i
would appreciate if others would extend this article more and also
translate it to other languages. i've choosen the title "Mutualism Arch"
because contributing to an opensource projet suits perfectly the
biological definition of the word mutualism: both sides profit from the
contributions of both. ;-)

all this writing in the page does probably not solve your question: how
can i help arch NOW? as we are doing the gcc4/.la file elimination in
[testing] if you are running arch, you can try [testing] untill the 1st
october. then the packages that were affected in this action will be
migrated from [testing] to [current]. there is still some hours left to
report if a pkg is not working correctly or something went wrong. ;-)

greetings,
Damir
