I've managed to compile it!!

One little issue, I know I'm nitpicking now, the .desktop file ends up
in the wrong place:

 % pacman -Ql gnucash2-svn|grep desktop
 gnucash2-svn /opt/gnome/share/gnome/apps/Applications/gnucash.desktop

It should be in /opt/gnome/share/applications
