 | Well, since you seem to know zsh very well,
I'm by no means an expert, just a user of zsh :)

 | let me ask you this:
 | can zsh keep an history log across sessions, and if so, how?
I have

HISTFILE=~/.zsh_history
HISTSIZE=3000
SAVEHIST=3000

in my zshenv. The crucial line, of course, is HISTFILE.

Kind regards,

Leslie
