thank you... i have to say here, that i'm only the maintainer of them and 
not the author. anthy and scim are written by others, i only make them 
ready-to-use for arch-users... by the way: you can shorten your 
installing guide even more. it should be enough just to do 

        pacman -Sy scim-anthy

because it depends on anthy and scim, and pacman should take care of this 
small things one should let the machine do :-)

on the other hand: you can also mention, that a very usefull font for 
japanese in truetype format is available in arch by the following 
packages:

        ttf-arphic-uming and ttf-arphic-ukai
