It seems I've got something more to add to this bug report: the system only freezes if there are Firefox or Thunderbird running. ATM I'm migrating to Opera and Evolution, which don't seem to have this problem. [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ pacman -Q mozilla-thunderbird mozilla-thunderbird 1.0.7-1 [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ pacman -Q mozilla-firefox mozilla-firefox 1.5-2 These are the two versions I installed. To be noticed that if I export another machine's display I can run them fine, so the problem is with the X server. Specifically, there must be some weird library. I verified that Xorg packages existing both in current and in testing are updated to the latest version. Do these informations trigger something in your mind? I sincerely hope so. In the next days, as I restart to use this computer at its full potential (I had some days of stop), I'll look for other apps that behave this way, maybe I'll be able to find some more clues.
