I have two Arch Linux systems...both running 0.7.1.  My wife's laptop has a PCMCIA SMC wireless-B card using ndiswrapper 1.7...it's up all the time and I've never had a lockup (at least she's never complained about it, and believe me she would complain if that happened).  My laptop has an internal INPROCOMM IPN2200 802.11b/g and I use ndiswrapper 1.7 (compiled separately from the arch package since I use a customized 2.6.14 archck kernel).  I intermittently will encounter an issue with the wireless card, after I've been away from my laptop for several hours (like overnight).  I do not encounter a system hang though...I generally have an issue where I cannot get an IP unless I do a "iwlist wlan0 scanning"...then I can do a "iwconfig wlan0 essid <WAP>" and then use dhcpcd to re-acquire an IP...however, there have been a couple of occassions where I need to reboot as the ndiswrapper module seems to be "frozen" (rmmod hangs indefinitely) but the rest of my system is responsive.  I attributed this issue to ndiswrapper just not supporting all wireless chipsets equally well.  It hasn't been intrusive enough for me to spend much time trouble-shooting it.

Yeah, I had one ndiswrapper Marvell card that would flake out after it
transfered... maybe 5 MB, then it would segfault the kernel - it was
real nice.  But broadcom ones tend to work well.
