I've also noticed that from time to time there's some issues that I run into when warm booting into Linux from Windows and vice versa, that seem to go away when cold booting. I'd always figured that warm booting was good enough to re-initialize everything, but apparently not. Anyone know when/why that might not be the case, and so why a cold boot might be needed?
