Perhaps I should have mentioned this earlier.....
I have recently (past several months) tried reiser4 and had a complete
failure. This was while using the underground-desktop Linux distro: a
derivative of arch-Linux.
Anyways, I found it somewhat curious that the distro's head honcho ALSO
decided (without ANY of my input BTW,) to forgo reiser4 and switch to
reiser3 (due to unexpected problems/behavior) at about the same time I had
my partition "disappear" after a controlled and planned "shutdown -h now".
<- Please note this was not due to using the "tools".
So....you all have been warned. Twice now from me as well as from others.
"Buyer beware" ya'll
Very best regards;
Bob Finch
I got something similar to this... When I upgraded to a silencious case, I tried to move things as easy as I could... I lost all my hd. By using the recovery tool, I was able to restore 50% of it. What I lost was my encoded mp3, somes videos, some isos and stuff like that. This was not so much important for me. I was on ReiserFS tough and it might be a human error even if I was handling this thing with extra care
Except for this issue, I didn't get any others moments of failure from reiserfs for a long time. I would not put a server on this fs, but for my own use, I think the system is pretty stable. This is as I would say, the same situation for the distribution...
