There are several reasons. For example, the binary package isn't optimized for my system. That's just one reason. It's generic for all linux platforms. So, no thanks for the binary from the Firefox website. I have a package manager to install and update my software, so I don't want do it manually. That's why I have pacman (or any other package manager). I have built Firefox from testing. I have download the testing PKGBUILD with the patches and built it on my own. It runs perfectly. If Firefox appear in extra/current I will download it and remove my version, but since that, I use my version. Sorry, if it sounds a little bit angry...but I just write down my minds.
