Well, I see a problem if Arch switches to xorg-7 do that. It is
possible to tell pacman not to update xorg via the NoUpgrade line in
pacman.conf. But since Arch is not keeping old packages , every new
installation will need to use the new xorg. At the moment, I think
xorg-7 should stay only in testing or a xorg-7 package could be
created which conflicts with xorg (as a temporary solution ).

As a sidenote, is there any repository keeping the old PKGBUILDs ?
