Here is my experience.  On my laptop, an Thinkpad T41, all my partitions show 
up in "media:/".  On my desktop, the only one partition shows up.  Two entire 
disks are missing.

I also know of others having trouble with this.  We have been thinking it is a 
KDE problem, but apparently it is not if a hal revert fixes it.
