To give you a clue how strange this is:
At the moment, I'm running find and updatedb to generate 100% CPU.
xmms, mplayer, ryhthmbox are playing simultaneous _without_ any lags.

Not always. Sometimes it laggs to.

In singleusermode - mpg123 won't play any tone - mplayer did.
xmms playes with oss and alsa.
