Hi Johanes! Well, I was reading the past messages of this thread and saw that you are using /etc/asound.conf or ~/.asoundrc to configure the sound card. What I have learn is that this is not recomended. Several messages in the Linux Audio Users List say that you should keep alway from even having these files on your system. They are not necessary anymore. Your sound driver should be able to detect the hardware and if it fails to do so, a bug report must be filled to the alsa project. I don't have any of them and my system works pretty well. Try to rename them to some temporary names and reload your alsa configuration (I think that it is /etc/rc.d/alsa restart, but can't be sure now because I'm not at home). I think that the only ocasions that you need these files are when you want to create virtual devices with different sample rates. HTH! -- ------------------------------------------- Denis A.
