Hi All,

I have been using gentoo for the last +- 5 years anyway after a hdd
dying on me yesterday I decided to try arch last night.

I downloaded and installed the ISO and was impressed with the speed,
simplicity and my general first impression was good.

I had also downloaded some extra packages including openbox, qemu, blah
blah blah.
I installed the additional packages using the command

# pacman -A <package name>

all seemed to go well until I tried to run the application.

$ figlet
/usr/bin/figlet: cannot execute binary file

My question is this, I downloaded these packages from the
extra/os/x86_64 folder from the same mirror I dl'ed the ISO.
how can the be incompatible ?

I did not run

$ file <filename>

To check the format as I did not think of it last night, I have googled
but come up with nothing :-(

Overall first impressions are really good, I suddenly understand the
hype. :-)

Wayn0
