Hi Alexei et al.
I tried to upgrade Arches-HIP using pip install arches_hip --upgrade
The upgrade terminated with compile-Errors.
When trying to re-doing the upgrade, pip claims that the package is already
in place and up to date
The system was left in a presumably rotten state again ;-(
E.g. whenever I hit the "Search"- button in arches I get the following
error:
Exception Type: AttributeError
Exception Value:
type object 'Concept' has no attribute 'get_time_filter_data'
Exception Location:
/var/www/arches3/Projects/ENV/lib/python2.7/site-packages/arches_hip/views/search.py

in home_page
'timefilterdata':
JSONSerializer().serialize(Concept.get_time_filter_data())
I run in a number of other troubles again -- it is really painful, as even
attempts to make a "clean new install" in another place in the file-system
raises all kinds of new issues :-(
Thus just a principial question:
Can you point out best practices on how to clean / reinstall / purge
existing installations once things start to go wrong ? (and they do so
frequently, very frequently in my CentOs 6 setup :-(
More specifically: Should or must I purge the tables in postgres prior to
(re-)installation? And if yes: what's the best way to do so?
all the best
Hannes
