Dear all,
I am Mr. Lu from Academia Sinica Center for Digital Cultures (ASCDC) in Taipei and we are undertaking now a research project concerning the early Chinese Buddhist monuments with hope to apply the Arches system. After installation of the Arches we face problems by using and thus hope for having further instructions. Our questions are listed as followings: 1. In research of Chinese Buddhist monuments it is significant, for example, to mark the depicted figures and type of their gestures, clothing and other iconographic topic on the object besides giving general information of each monument. In application of Arches we hope to set up those special data fields for our research. But could it be possible to establish these specific data tables in the current system and how could we do for that? 2. In the Reference Data Manager (RDM), may we allow to add new relation type under the box “Resource to Resource Relationship Types” to express other possible relations between resources, such as “is documented in/ documents in” or “member of the same group”? Unlike other data fields, in the box of “Resource to Resource” it seems we cannot find "Manage" switcher on the top right corner as others in RDM. 3. In RDM, when we add up a new concept, could we change the language label in Chinese and how does it work and how can we do that? 4. After establishing a new resource in system, we can get an Arches ID for each registered data. But what does it mean or does it represent its URI number in system? I hope to find further suggestions to solve our problems. with best regards Lu-Yen LU, ASCDC Taipei 17.11.2016 -- -- To post, send email to archesproject@googlegroups.com.
