Hi everyone,

I am a project manager working at Historic England, working with the
Greater London Historic Environment Record team (hi Stuart) and a number of
colleagues on Arches here, so that we may be able to provide access to the
HER on a much greater scale than what is currently possible.

I've just met Ed, who works here too, and he encouraged me to say hello
here, so here I am!

In the past, I've worked with a number of different open-source platforms
(Drupal, WordPress, Magento) in digital agencies and software companies,
and weird and wonderful ways of them being deployed to carry out a number
of different things, such as jobs platforms, document management systems to
help plan hospitals, performance review systems, digital catalogues and
furniture planners, trip planners and tourism websites, an airport website,
websites for supersonic cars, as well as flashy websites for generic
marketing purposes.

What is your interest in Arches?

I'm here to bring my knowledge and experience in working with digital
projects and different ideas, and realising their potential. Working with
fascinating subject matter such as that within Greater London's historic
environment is certainly a key aspect of the job.

Where am I working?

I work mainly in sunny Swindon, at The Engine House, where we are currently
engaged in a number of different Arches-related projects. As I work closely
with our team in London, I am often there too, mainly pestering people
about estimates, documents, and deadlines.

What can I see out of the window?

I can see (when in Swindon) a lot of the old railway works, as well as the
shiny new but dysfunctional trains that are running along the lines. Up in
London, you'll mainly find me gazing out the window onto the Thames and the
London skyline, either side of Cannon Street station, including two towers
which are part of the original station, as our office building sits atop
the current station and the railway bridge.

Anyhow, I'll chip in here now and then.

Chris
