Bill, Oh.
In that case can you be a little more explicit? I have always felt like ISP have a different need than end-sites, and understood the divergence in policy for the two. For example, and ISP should be forced to document when it makes an assignment to a customer, The same requirement doesn't apply to a University who is assigning space to the philosophy department. What differences between ISPs and end-sites do you think are unfair. ___Jason On Fri, Jul 12, 2013 at 5:17 PM, William Herrin <[email protected]> wrote: > On Fri, Jul 12, 2013 at 4:53 PM, Jason Schiller <[email protected]> > wrote: > >> > 0.2 Fair Distribution > >> > > >> > The principle of Fair Distribution is the precept that the > >> > fundamental purpose of Internet number resources management is to > >> > distributed unique number resources in a fair and impartial manner > >> > to entities building and operating networks, for benefit of all > >> > Internet users equally, and thereby facilitating the growth and > >> > sustainability of the Internet. > >> > >> How does this statement square with the continued existence of two > >> very unequal classes of registrants? > >> > > IMO, in the past, the community has agreed that those who got legacy > address > > did so under a different set of rules. > > Hi Jason, > > To clarify, I meant ISPs and end users. > > Though the legacy issue does illustrate the difference between > fairness and fair distribution.
