On 21 March 2024, the ARIN Advisory Council (AC) accepted “ARIN-prop-330: Edit 
6.5.8.3 Section 2” as an Editorial Update.

The process for Editorial Updates is found in section “2.8.1. Editorial Update” 
of the Policy Development Process (PDP).

“After the AC adopts a Policy Proposal as an Editorial Update, ARIN staff shall 
post a copy of the proposed update to PPML for a minimum of 30 days.”

“Members of the Internet Community may comment on PPML if they believe an 
update would not be an Editorial Update or if they believe that additional 
formal discussion should occur for the proposed NRPM update.”

Editorial Update ARIN-edit-2024-3: Edit 6.5.8.3 Section 2

Problem Statement:

A typo was discovered in the policy language that requires correction.  An 
editorial change will accomplish this.

Policy Statement:

Current policy: When possible subsequent assignments will result it the 
expansion of an existing assignment by one or more nibble boundaries as 
justified.  

We propose that the text should be: When possible subsequent assignments will 
result in the expansion of an existing assignment by one or more nibble 
boundaries as justified.

Comments: This is an editorial change that was pointed out by a member of the 
community.

Timetable for Implementation: Immediate
