Subject: Re: Video DRM at raspi?

Hi!

Could this be any solution?
https://gist.github.com/ruario/19a28d98d29d34ec9b184c42e5f8bf29

Or is there any source where I can get the widevine source to compile it on the
opensuse ARM?

Those step are for 32-bit arm, so for armv7 (Raspberry Pi 2), not for 64-bit
(Raspberry Pi 3 or 4).

I hadn't a too deep look into the script, but chromeOS does exists on arm64 as well. So maybe it could be reproduced for arm64 as well. Sandra, if you succeed, please let us know.

Regards,
Matthias

Guillaume

Thx, Sandra

Hi Michal!

do you know any repository or source where I can get this for the
arm architecture?

It seems it is not available yet:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1679354

Indeed, it's proprietary binary-only plugin, unsuprprisingly.

The package we have is only for x86_64:
https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/devel:openSUSE:Factory/chromiu
m-plugin-widevinecdm

Also unsuprising that it does not work on majority of hardware
platforms. It's designed to prevent you viewing the content after all.

Thanks

Michal

Guillaume

Thanks, Sandra

What can I do to enable DRM (widevine?) in a browser, so that
I can watch Amazon Prime video?

You probably want chromium-plugin-widevinecdm
