highly recommend Alan Taylors "Mathematics and Politics."

If you want a somewhat technical intro, then I'd recommend
Morris' intro for political scientists.

If you want the standard treatment for beginning econ grad students,
then I'd recommend Osborne and Rubinstein's text.(Rated R)
