Dear Rahman Fans
It gives me great pleasure communicating with admirers of AR Rahmans music. I have been tracking ARR's career since his ROJA days and for the first time I am joining a formal forum dedicated to the genius and his art. Whenever a new movie of ARR is released, I am eagerly waiting for purchase of the audio cassette / ( nowadays CD). I listen to the songs, at first, the songs may appear OK, sometimes even not so OK. But with every session of listening, new and hidden places get unfolded and the music sorts of starts maturing in my systems. I call it PICKLING stage. With successive listening, the music becomes more and more endearing. Fortunately for us Indians, ARR has scored in almost all languages ( although mostly in south ) and that has made us all aware of other languages and the richness of related art forms in those cultures. If not for ARR, tell me in what way, me, a person from Pune, Maharashtra would have got himself interested in listening to Tamil, Telgu, Malyalam ? In his own way, indirectly, ARR has bridged the gap between the languages and states. I collect ARR songs. I seek help of this gathering of ARR fans in helping me to locate a Malyalam movie VAISHNAVAR which is listed in ARR movies. To my knowledge, he has scored music for 2 Malyalam movies, namely Yodha ( dubbed as Asokan in Tamil ) and Vaishnavar. I managed to buy a cassette of Yodha during my visits to Cochin however I am not able to make any headway about the other movie. May be the movie was never released ? because none of my Kerala friends can recollect any movie of this name and all the shopkeepers look at me as a madman as if I have invented this movie name.
