well, its rather uncanny to follow this conversation about salil chaudhary and his influence on rahman's musical style. back in 94, with the release of bombay, my dad, who happens to be a big fan of salil chaudhary, likened rahman's 'kuchi kucchi rakamma' with 'mausam beeta jaaye' of 'do bigha zamin' by salil c. that song is sung by farmers, that too of the 1950s, and has a pure folk feel.. we didnt take him too seriously then.. time to rethink!:)
