thanks for taking pain and writing some good stuff here
may be its true that i have not listened RDB too much (but not
considerably less!)
what i have concluded is that it depends on several factors
1. as you said that there is TIME factor
you can not compare two MDs from different times
BUT another truth is that only due to the reason that one of them
was in past (e.g. RDB), the one in present (e.g. rahman) suffers
in comparison.
there is a big example here
this year VEER-ZARA swept all awards in front of SWADES, only
because the MD of veer-zara was a renowned MD in past
i agree Madan Mohan was one of great MDs, but do you think veer-
zara songs were any better than swades
2. another factor is the CHOICE factor
of cource my choice and your choice will be different
when i listened RDB songs repetedily, i was getting bore of them
this is not the case with rahman
but that can be my personal experience and observation, others
may not be agree with that
in that case i would say thanks to Arvind (who also replied my
original mail, supporting my view), and i am sure that its not my
opinion only, but there are a few more who think the same way
who knows, perhaps in future we might feel other way!
