It's true that the ARR-Prabhu Deva combo was one of the most exciting combo indian cinema have ever seen. ARR's fast pace music always allows ample scope for PD to show his deadly dancing skills. In fact PD once admitted that only ARR's music does justice to his dancing. Chikku bukku rayile from Gentleman kick started a new genre in film music n picturisation and their combo took to a new high in Kadhalan which till date remains PD's most successful film in his career. Minsaara Kanavu was successful due to gud music, acting n script. Even tough their combo was great in films like Love Birds and Mr Romeo, ARR's music n PD's dancing skills could not save those movies which suffered from a bad script. I don't think Prabhu Deva changed camps, in fact i think ARR realised that only music and dancing was not enough to carry a film so he stopped scoring for PD's films. In fact PD does not act much nowadays n has shifted his focus to direction and choreography.
