Guys, I finally got Water CD from Verese Sarabande today. I know this is not supposed to be such a big deal, but unfortunately with Water it is, it almost seemed like we were never going to get our hands on this CD. I never quite understand why and how the music was leaked on many different websites before the official release, I mean if it was only on one website that would be alright but many sites had Water songs. Now that I have the CD I can tell you that there are only 5 songs, including Vaishnanva Janato.
We were expecting more songs in the CD, but the CD actually has less songs.. it is missing Baiyyan marori. Also the music is quite different from the ones heard earlier, it has additional instruments, I hope to God Michael Danna has nothing to do with this additional instruments. So here it is... The songs on the CD sound brilliant, I mean the quality is just amazing, this is a must buy. To be honest, the addtional instrumentation on these songs sound a little awkward I don't know if that's because it's different than the ones heard before or if it is because Michael Danna had his hands in this. Could someone close to Rahman... Vij... can you confirm what's with the additional instrumentation in Water. Let's hope the Indian version... if there is going to be one.. will have all the songs.
