I'd imagine that the correlation remains true for not-too-urban regions but not really the big cities where mp3s and FM channels have pretty much destroyed the cassettes/CD market. This shows up in the sales results too. For 4-5 years now, the albums that target mainly urban crowd tend to do well in countdown shows but the other albums (amm... how should I put it... Nadeem-Shravan genre of music, maybe?) are the ones that sell like hotcakes...
