IMHO there are lot of songs which follows either of Jazz or Blues concepts. My favorite one would be polyrhythms, ie. using multiple independent rhythms. For e.g. Oh Maria from "Kadhalar Dhinam". There are so many small rhythmic nuances going on in that song and I am willing to take a bet that 50% of listeners wouldn't even notice those subtleties. The other would be 12 bar chord progressions, which are typical in Blues. So I guess, it would be very difficult to classify or identify the genre, atleast in case of ARR's creations.
