All set to rock the country?
Inter-collegiate rock music competition
Its an opportunity for campus rock bands to perform on a professional level.
Hero Honda Motorola Campus Rock Idols, Indias largest inter-collegiate
annual rock music competition is all set for its fourth edition.
The Hero Honda Motorola Campus Rock Idols Tour 2007, in association with
Reliance, Levis & VH1, will be held across 10 cities in India over a period of
two months. Commencing on October 27, the competition culminates with a grand
finale in Delhi on December 2.
The regional events will commence on October 27 in Jaipur and Hyderabad
followed by Bangalore, Chandigarh, Shillong, Manipal, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Pune
and Delhi, respectively. The South Zone comprises Bangalore, Hyderabad, and
Manipal for the music fest while the West Zone encompasses Pune and Ahmedabad.
Jaipur, Delhi and Chandigarh form the cities in the North Zone and in the East
Zone, the event will be organised in Kolkata and Shillong.
The winning band gets a cash prize of Rs. 75,000, the first runner up Rs.
50,000 and the second runner up Rs. 25,000. This years winners will get
once-in-a-lifetime debut opportunity to perform alongside an international rock
artist, promoted by DNA Networks. Entry forms are being distributed at various
campuses. Alternatively, aspiring amateur bands at the campus level can log on
to www.campusrockidols.in or www.dnanetworks.com to register for the
competition.
The jury comprising senior representatives from the music industry will
shortlist the winners in the respective cities. All participants must be bona
fide college students and must send a copy of their ID cards along with the
entry forms.
Members of bands must be below age 25 as on October 25. A minimum of three
and a maximum of 10 members can be a part of a band.
