Hi

I have a small doubt, whether the guitar used in Athiradi song in sivaji film
is also a base guitar? what is the difference between a normal guitar and base
guitar? If possible can anyone expalin the difference in each type of guitar
with an example from ARR's composition.

Regards

S.Sunder

if you guys want to listen to how uniquely ARR mixed bass guitar,
listen to margazhi thingal (sangamam). i dont think neone has ever
mixed a bass guitar for a carnatic song. sounds terrific. latest case
- valayapatti (the use of bass guitar once again for the carnatic
aalaps) tremendously intelligent arrangement, just goes to show that
bass guitar is a very powerful accompaniment for carnatic song (like a
violin).

been an underrated instrument at least in tamil music.... IMO, bass
guitar usage got a boost in tamil music only because of ARR (Though
Bass Guitar has been used in tamil music, it was hardly used to this
extent!)
