For a second I seconded your thought ! but then, look how pathetic were SOK and ATM movies were ! after watching them, i felt even the couple of numbers which were rocking in the album went unnoticed, and I felt not another rahman effort in vain.
however this does not mean that all his hindi scores reach well as movies and picturisation. Pukar/Meenaki and lot more were duds in picturisation... swades/RDB although they were hits musically and as movies..the picturisation part were more blended with dialogues and emotions rather than fantasies like how Shankar shoots them. but script is paper is different from script on screen and this is where majority of aspiring directors fail. ! but let me be selfish and say that Rahman MUST reserve his best for TAMIL... i wont say we need more DUET/ALAIPAYUTHEY/BOMBAY.. we need albums which are fresh and have a "special" place in the scores. 1995 - i keep repeating the whole album on the player some 200 times - bcoz of new technology/new sounds/new beats/new rhythms..everything u can think off rahman manufactured. 2000 - proabably 100 times.. post 2000 - - few numbers from a album were reserved for loopback. anyway, he rocks ! --- In [email protected], "anishshreya" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > I feel boss gives his best to Hindi music.
