As I live in Canada and most of my friend's (who were born here) donteven
understand Hindi. I have hooked them up with Rahman music, andthey absolutely
fell in love with it. Then last year, I thought why not i apply this one myself
and listento Rahman's tamil songs. So I started listening to tamil songs, dear
odear!! I started with Sivaji and got memorized. Then came SOK, thenBoys, ATM,
Sakrakatti, KK (2000). Each album I heard, i couldnt stoplistening to, even
though I didnt understand a single thing. I haveheard the songs so many times,
I can even sing along; I am sure I amnot even pronouncing the words correctly.
I also became eager to learntamil so that I could understand the meanings, but
never got time. Another problem I faced was in buying CDs. There is not even a
singletamil/telugu store in entire town, not in Vancouver either. My sisterwent
to India last winter so I asked her to get these CDs from there.Hence I wanted
to know what other albums in tamil that you guysrecommend. I kno I wont be
disappointed with a single album, justwanted to know which one i should hear
first. So, that was my story. I wanted to tell, there is a large number ofpeople
who listen to Rahman's songs just for his music. If I am notwrong, Rahman sir
said once that music got no language.Looking forward to hear from other people
who listen to music w/ounderstanding the lyrics :) -- Sent from my very old 386
machine.
