Aamir's film is another kettle of fish. It's a remake of the Tamil thriller of the same name and deals with a rich businessman who, after a violent tragedy, is left bewildered and clueless following short-term memory loss.
Using mementos from his past, he begins to piece together his life again in an attempt to try to gain revenge and closure. Popular south Indian actress Asin and Jiah Khan star opposite Aamir. The director of the original, AR Murugadoss, handles the remake, and melody king AR Rehman provides the music. Parts of Ghajini were shot in Namibia and Cape Town.
