The Gentleman in Hindi was an authorized remake of the original in Tamil. The movie was produced by Geetha Arts/Allu Arjun, the production house behind the Hindi version of Ghajini. The remake rights, including the music, were acquired from KT Kunjumon, producer of the Tamil version. ARR was paid a fee for composing the score of the movie and does not hold the publishing rights to the music of Gentleman. Whether the Hindi makers were ethical in not crediting ARR is a matter for debate.
