*Oscar Sp: Best of luck Dad: Sonam

**Slumdog Millionaire is making waves around the world while bagging
prestigious awards at ceremonies such at the Golden Globes and the BAFTAs
and now it is time for the SM team to say Jai Ho at the Oscars.*


And among the film's many fans and well-wishers, there's Sonam Kapoor, who
has high hopes for the movie which stars her father Anil Kapoor.

She says, "I would like to wish the entire cast and crew of Slumdog
Millionaire for the Oscars. I especially would like to congratulate Resul
Pookutty and Mr. A. R. Rahman on their nominations. They totally deserve the
award and I really hope they win it. As for my dad, I am sure that he will
rock at the Academy Awards."

After receiving four Golden Globes and seven BAFTA awards, Slumdog
Millionaire has secured 10 Oscar nominations. The film has been nominated
for Best Adapted Screenplay (Simon Beaufoy), Best Picture, Best Original
Score (A R Rahman), Best Song (One each for Jai Ho and O Saya), Best
editing, Best Sound Mixing (Resul Pookutty), Best Sound Editing (Resul
Pookutty), Best Cinematography and Best Director (Danny Boyle).

The Academy Awards will be held in Los Angeles on February 22, 2009. A R
Rahman's Jai Ho, sung by Sukhwinder Singh, has become an international hit.
Singh will be performing the song at the Oscars.
